Alart Design is pronounced AL - ART- Design

I was born in Somerset UK (yes another Pom!) and moved to New Zealand three years ago with my Kiwi wife, Andrea.

I love anything graphical! I started out by designing business cards and posters for DJ's in the UK. I thought it would be a great idea to learn to build my own website to show my work, that's when I got hooked.

I read the books and went to night schools and worked late building and rebuilding my website, until I learned all there was to learn to get it right.

I enrolled in a 3 year course on website development learning the basics of HTML and website design layout. I then worked freelance for a number of London based companies and slowly built my business along the way.

11 years down the line and 12 thousand miles from where I started , I now run my own business. Alart Design has been steadily growing in Hawke's Bay for over 3 years. I design and construct all the work myself, and occasionally out- source work to programmers for back-end scripting and database construction.

My passion is web design and graphics. I'm constantly updating my knowledge by researching new web standards and graphical styles.

Web and graphic design is an ongoing learning process. Because of the ever changing environment in this field of work, there is always something new to learn, new people to meet and to exchange new idea's and experiences with.

I love designing layouts in Photoshop, creating logos in Illustrator, then putting it all together using CSS and HTML within Dreamweaver.
